The vote on the UN ARMS TREATY failed to pass, but the vote waqs interesting.

Subject: Senatun Rights to the UN

Over the weekend, we came four votes away from the United States Senate giving our Constitutional rights over to the United Nations. In a 53-46 vote, the senate narrowly passed a measure that will stop the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.

The Statement of Purpose from the bill read:
To uphold Second Amendment rights and prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty.
The U.N. Small Arms Treaty, which has been championed by the Obama Administration, would have effectively placed a global ban on the import and export of small firearms. The ban would have affected all private gun owners in the U.S., and had language that would have implemented an international gun registry on all private guns and ammo.

Astonishingly, 46 of our United States Senators were willing to give away our Constitutional rights to a foreign power.

Here are the 46 senators that voted to give your rights to the U.N.
Baldwin (D-WI)
Baucus (D-MT)
Bennet (D-CO)

It is just me, or is being Democrat nothing more than an ally for world Socialisim thse days? Do they NOT see where this will go?

I can only hope the elections in '14 are not compromised and we end these people's tenure in the government. They have no business governin' even they's own pee stream.

Another example of Harry Reid gathering the forces. When are good people across this country going to wake up to the fact Dems are not about protecting individual freedoms but expanding the role of government in our lives?

All of those Senators should be impeached, they took an oath to protect the Constitution and they are violating that to the max. The least they should all be censored and made to sit in a corner until there term is up and then be stripped of all perks and kicked out the door."

I'll bet the people in Hartford, Ct are relieved that with the new Connecticut gun regulations limiting the capacity of magazines street gangs and other criminals will now remove 7 rounds from their Glock 19's giving them the legal required 10 rounds. And with mandatory background checks criminals can now be found and arrested when they attempt to buy handguns or rifles from storefront gun stores.

LOL. I'm glad I live in a Red State (Ok) where logic and reason prevail, and concealed carry is a way of life."

"Btw, Yall.. I was lookingm to see why I hadn't heard about this on Fox News or Hannity, and I read today that this vote was non-binding - Doesn't that mean it was just political masturbation?

Sadly I think most of Colorado is getting the very people that are running from the ruin they created in California. I may have to leave this place because of that change in mentality. It is very sad to see.

They are moving in down here in texas, too. They almost immediately LOVE the lack of excess taxes and our sales tax is exactly as theirs. We just don't have nanny state crap here. But, they find a hard hill to tote to change the die hard conservatives here. And there are pockets of wild liberalisim here, but only the poorest cities .. Like Dallas, Houston, Austin. Typically, those areas are rampantly overbudget, poorest schools around, high crime, scarred with scandals in city and county governments (Crony capitalisim - Half of them left to serve in OBuffoon's government - Hint...)

The castle law in this state (Texas) also extends to your CAR, RV, Boat, any vehicle you are in - meaning - you can defend it as if you were defending a intruder in your house who's just made their last mistake. Perps here know that. Most also know we will shoot them first and inquire afterwards.

Now, that also means we have some damn sense, too - If someone's broke down, car's a steamin out on the highway in front of my place, and he's toting a 5 year old, I'll help, not shoot. Simarily, you cannot empty a 100 round magazine into the target either - Only that force necessary to subdue the threat until a LEO arrives.

They seem to think they can legislate their morality. Funny thing, if you could actually legislate morality (gun laws and such) it would be easy to fix the system. Just outlaw politicians.

After much thought about this whole gun control issue, yes I believe in the Second Ammendment, have some handguns and I do have a permit to carry. One issue that has been kinda hit on yet sidetracked is the mental ill having access to wepons. The last couple of big massacures have been done by people who claim to be mentally ill -- I'm not to judge them. I believe that there lots and lots of people who are undiagnosed with mental illness. And you and I know who those people are. As responsible gun owners, it is OUR responsibility to deny anykind of access to those with mental illness. That means don't take them shooting, don't show them where the key is to the gun safe, etc. Isn't that what being responsible is called to do? I could go on for a very long time on this but this is just a suggestion for everyone who considers themself a responsible gun owner to think about.

Couldn't agree more...Trigger guard locks alone would have stopped Newport, Conn. But not all forms of mental illness necesarily mean someone will cross that line and kill. A man who loses his wife to old age or cancer, or a parent passes due to nature.. The mental health folks would say that surviving person was depressed, and rightly so. Should that mean they can't shoot? Slippery slope..

And yes, we know who the overt crazies are. The problem is it's hard to see the break coming in otherwise normal folks. The normal catch filters we have relied upon for decades have been made poltically correct, and detoothed to the point you cannot call it what it is - I saw his diary, but I could TELL any one..Ft Hood - work place violence ...

When we can call it like it is again, it will help. Until then, observe and protect.
