after a lot of reading this is it.
60 # of golden promise.
5 packets of gert strand wiskey yeast with ag.
30 gallons of soft well water from a sandy soil.ph 7.3
water to 150, added grain. I insulated a 55 gal plastic drum.
it held 150 for 24 hours, dam !!! good though
added yeast at 75 degrees. pumped pure oxygen in it for 1 minute. (from A cutting torch hooked up to a clean hose )waited 10 minutes. a total of 10 times. stirred once a day with a 5 gal stir for paint on a drill.that kicked ass with adding air.
did iodine test, after 5 days all starch was gone.
*** a new one that I have not read before .My idea. I also keep bees. I used a 600 micron filter that fits over a 5 gallon bucket(for straining honey from combs) to strain out grain. (Worked great ) Picked up a handful at a time and squezzed it dry too. I have my 30 gallons back ready for sunday morning cooking.
My friend is bringing his awesome cooker. hes got that part.
I bought 2, 5 gallon used barrels from Balcone dist. ready to age. of course after I cut it down with distilled water.
