My guess is that if you have a triple scale hydrometer and it says that your potential alcohol is 12% and you have a 7 gallon wash then 7*128 ounces=896 ounces--- 12% of that is 896*.12=107.5 ounces---107.5/32= 3.36 quarts

Don't forget that some of that is fore shots---then heads---then heart
s and finally tails.

Well ........
that would be true if you were collecting pure alcohol .
but we end up with an ABV much less than 196.5 (in a pot still anyway)
you could double those numbers if your collecting at 100 proof
