Hi ya'll, just a couple quick question. I'm not building my own still yet (lack a shop, or any spare room, to build), I was fishing and it hit me that solder mite melt on a copper still. My question is are most copper still brazed or silver soldered? And could one build a gas burner out of copper if it was brazed?

Hey mate, all the stills I've done are soft solder, it won't melt. Silver solder is better but it's a bit to expensive for me to buy and the mapp gas is too. Not sure about a burner made of it?.

Alright thanks. Yea when I do decide to build a still it will be an all copper pot still and was just wondering if regular solder would melt. I'll prolly go with the silver and map gas just to be safe. Thanks though.
