A friend gave me a gallon of 2 year old grape wine they he made using grapes from his vineyard. we opened the bottle and and took a taste drink. it was a little dry so I asked him about distilling it. He was all for it. So yesterday (Sunday) i poured the one gallon grape wine into my PS II 8 gallon kettle. fired up the propane and get her going. I ended up with almost a pint of hearts at 112 proof. of course i'm going to cut that down to probably 90ish. anyway this is my first run of Brandy. Oh yeah i almost forgot. this brandy still retains some of the grape flavor and it's as clear as any other that i've made. most likely this won't last long in my house. i've got it still airing out today with plans to cut it later today or tomorrow.
