Well I finally got all the pieces completed for my still conversion so I can use it as an essential oil still and then switch to an inline thumper still. I'll be doing a cleaning run tomorrow and have started a batch of rum that will be ready to run in8 to 10 days, I hope. Click on the pics for a larger version.
Here are some pics of the conversion.

These two pics are how the still is set up for essential oil production.

These are the parts for converting to an inline thumper still

These are the vapor tubes, down comer tube, copper nuts, and down comer base.

This is a little closer look at the down comer base.

Thanks Scotty, can't wait to make a real run with it. It will only run 2 gallons at a time but that's all I need for trail batches.

Well I finally sqeezed in the time to make my Rum run with this new set up. Been real busy since Obama got re-elected.
The Inline Thumper Still worked out well and I ended up with some tasty 156 proof rum. Took awhile to run 6 gallons through 2 gallons at a time but it was well worth it.

I put 2 quarts of the mash into the thumper to add a little flavor back into the vapor and it seemed to help. As a controll I ran another batch of the same mash recipee through my PSII as a pot still and it seemed to be less flavorful. Not much less, but noticeable.
