"Hey all, I am completely new to creating spirits and have been doing some research on the Amazing Still. Because of my living situation (1000 sq ft condo, porch) any kind of propane heating is out, and it looks like the Amazing Still for cost/size would be the best way to go for me to see if home stilling is for me.
I'm looking for any advice out there for a noob, I've read people have had issues with heating elements and any suggestions on a quality product would be appreciated. Also, looking at the plans I am confused on the placement of the element. Is it placed directly in the mash, or placed to outside the mash container to heat the mash indirectly? Thanks!!"

thoughts on the amazing still ---- its not that amazing. Theres got to be something else you can use. You said you read that people have had issues and you will too. Keep looking, just my thoughts--not meant to be ugly.

Go with the Easy Still that Brewhaus sells, it's compact and works fine. You can read reviews about it on their web site at www.brewhuas.com.
