I went by Ian Smiley's directions for cooking the flaked maize (corn) for corn whiskey, but when I got to the part about doing the Iodine test to make sure the starches were broke down I got nothing. No blue, the Iodine did not change colors. Trying to figure out why, anyone got any ideas on this one. If the water is not right on the mark will it cause problems. I am using Ozarka Spring water, PH is good right out of the bottle. Need Help!

"no color change means no starch and that the conversion was completed. some color means further mashing is needed.
