"Filtering really can add a lot to the taste of your stuff. I took a bunch of pure honeycomb, drained most of the honey out and put it in a coffee maker and filtered the liquor through it, it is great, love it. Also used a little cinnamon, but that came out pretty much like a spiced rum, but better than store bought spiced rum.

Anyone do some weird stuff on filtering?

Next thing I'm going to try and do is making tea bag type things out of charred oak chips. I'm also going to try and do some weird stuff with this technique using charred walnuts and other woods or grains. Just to dip in and out of the liquor for a while, kind of like how you use a tea bag to make tea.

Anyone got any ideas along these lines?"
