Still looking for a oxyo recipe. I am now trying a mixture of an anise and licorice recipe with some Cardamom thrown in. If anyone is interested would be able to tell you how it came out 10/7/02

take 5 lbs sugar and add water to make a supersaturated solution i.e. a liquid which cannot contain any more sugar. put 1 quart of water in a large pan and bring it to a boil, add sugar until it remains as granules in the bottom of the pan. ,lower heat- watch for boiling and stir.cook about 10-15 min on low heat,i use a package of brewers yeast for 5 gal water and some yeast nutrient and maybe some yeast starter. ferment in a container with an airlock for 10-14 days. Watch until the bubbles stop. keep temp in the 75-85 range. .
add an apple or some grapes or another acidic fruit in moderation. think i'll try strawberries next..the fruit may add flavour the the tails which may be used in brandy or liquors
