"I built a reflux still using a proven blue print and was running off a mash that was originally a beer wort that had sit for 3 weeks after fermentation had stopped I took it and added sugar and yeast and let if ferment until it had finished with a potential alcohol of 8 % I then started running it through my still it was coming off at 180 proof after a couple of hours the alcohol proof went to 40 so I stopped. took the still apart and there was still plenty of mash left . I only came out with 1 1/2 liter of finished alcohol from a 20 liter mash and out of that there was half of that left in the kettle. What went wrong ? I even check the mash again after it cooled down and my hydrometer is still telling me that there is 8% possible alcohol in the mash.

Never mind I got it on my own"
