I have a 20g pot and ran a 5g mash, ended up a lil cloudiness after distillation, my Q is should i add more water to the pot before i rum my mash. I am thinking the 15 gallons of space was too much to let the vapors come out individually and allows them to mix before exiting the pot.
I'm thinking a 5g wash with 10 gallons of water would allow the vapors to be separated.

Am i on the right track with this thought process?

Thanks in advance, Mike

The size should not matter, most likely running to fast or is it cloudy after you temper it down to drinking proof? did you do a cleaning run first and a few more questions I have before i can help.

Yes, it was after proofing(ozarka spring water)
it's a big crawfish boiling pot I've got a copper 1¼ male adapter in the lid that is going to ½ inch copper coil condenser. It was clear,I'm thinking the vapors are mixing before they exit the pot.

It was ran slow, alternating drips and needle size streams. I couldn't hardly get the propane burner to go any lower without going out, i did get it to only drops but it was one every 2 to 3 seconds. Threw off the first 4oz and stopped collecting at 110pr

As far as the cloudiness, have seen where different water will turn it cloudy and did you notice if there was any oils on the top. I need to know more about whether you had a mash or wash recipe and also curiuos how you are sealing the lid down.

I appreciate you helping me out

Flaked corn, 6 row, corn sugar and 48hr turbo yeast, 10 day fermentation. Semi food grade Silicone was used for the seal, let it cure for a week before use. All parts were cleaned, washed and ran twice before i ran the mash
