Can anyone tell me how I can use a brix refractometer to measure the alcohol content of the finished product? I know what the reading says, but if I don't have the initial SG, the formula doesn't work. What I really want to know how to do is take a few drops of the liquid as it's distilling and know what the % alcohol is. Is this possible without taking a starting point, doing math, etc? I want a quick way to check proof . Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Feel free to email me. thanks
