Will Flaked Maize clog up a Grainfather set up? Been brewing beer in the Grainfather without an issue just curious before i create a huge mess and waste some ingredients.

I'd almost say yes, w/o a mash bag to hold it together. It's almost like using Rye flour, or corn meal once it gets wet and commences to particulate.. I use some flaked Maize in my sweet feed recipe and once it's cooked it's like the flaked barley, a mucky blob that takes a few sparges of hot fluid to drain - hence the bag - makes it easier to work ;)

If you are using it with 10% + malted barley or pure flaked maize with adding some amalase to convert the starches into sugars it turns quite fluid after the amalase has had a chance to work. The flaked corn will break up into 1 - 2 mm pieces though. I use it in my 50L cool box mash tun with a 12 inch bazooka filter and very rarely have an issue. :)
