Hi, I'm a 59yo working guy in East Tennessee. I bought my EE PS2 last June with the hopes that maybe, in time, I might make something that was worth drinking. I was born and raised in East Tennessee and have never had a drink of "Moonshine" that I thought was worth drinking. My fifth run was Turbo48 and corn sugar. I did a striping run on two batches and ended up with about 3.5Gal of 50%. We put that back in the still took it off in pint jars. We cut it by the 3.1% foreshots/17.4% heads/57.1% hearts and 22.4% tails. I learned this at http://homedistiller.org/. I kept only the hearts and put them on toasted oak at 55% for a month then at 40% till it was gone. It was the smoothest whiskey I have ever had! I can't wait to see how good it is when I know what I am doing.

Welcome Dale. The more you do it the better you get. Next time try UJSSM or one of the other tried and true recipes with a different yeast They are fool proof and might bring the learning curve down a bit. Glad you enjoyed that run !
