                I made a wash of black strap molasses, brown sugar and rum yeast.  I have made rye whiskey for a long time and its usually finished fermenting in 5 to 7 days.  I did not take a reading at the beginning.  The fermentation has slowed but you can still see bubbles coming up.  Does anyone know what I need to do or what I have done wrong?

                I've had rum washes go for 17 to 18 days so just give it some more time. It will finish when it's done

                That's what I thought but just wanted to make sure.  Lot of sugar the yeast has to deal with.  Thanks for the help!

All things being equal did you use the same amount of sugar and yeast in this as the other washes you've made??                 My first batch of Rum and I am wondering if I used enough yeast.  I used Distillers Spirits Rum Yeast.  I made a 25 gallon wash (tripled the recipe) and three packs of the yeast.  Probably to late to add yeast?

                No need to add any more yeast.  As others have said, it will be done when it's done.    I just did 4 batches and depending on the batch there was as much as a week difference in finishing times.
