i use to frequent a British pub and they served a lot of orange bitter beer which was just adding a dash of orange bitters to their draught beer.

scotty,

Get a copy of the BJCP Style Guidelines at:

http://www.bjcp.org/stylecenter.php

The guidelines will tell you everything you want to know ... and then some.

Edit: Check out the Northern Brewer website for recipes. E.g.:
http://www.northernbrewe...itter-all-grain-kit.html

They have extract recipes as well.

Hi Scotty. British bitter can be compared to IPA's in the USA. Given that, there an be any level of hoppiness/bitterness. Usually they are not too high in ABV. 4.5 to 5.5%
