I have an idea that could help get home distilling legalized and all we'll be doing is creating another license that's obtained when you pay your property taxes. The reason this might work is because you can show the state officials what they lost in revenue from last year's property taxes by multiplying the cost of the license ($250.00 bucks) by the number of registered property owners that paid their property taxes. That will make them sick, but it will prove a point. The only requirements is that you must obtain an AFP and register your equipment with the state. A bond will not be required unless you're renting an apartment or leasing some land off someone. Half of the license fee will go to the state while the other half will go towards your state's alcohol control board(s) and/or enforcement agencies. Now we'll need to set a limit of finished product. 240 gallons per year which is 20 gallons per month is plenty. Anymore than that will be considered an unreasonable. This is not quite what we wanted to accomplish, but it has a much better chance of going through with state officials and law makers than the proposal that we have now. If we can work together to get this paticular idea along with some suggested regulations and rules, there's a really good solid cahnce that this will go through. Something is better than nothing which is all we've been getting besides lip service at best in this matter.
