I remove the still cap to clean it. when I am running a batch I use flour paste to seal the cap. Here is a line where the cap comes off

Here is my still. We have only run about 400 gallons of a single malt through it so far, up at a friends distillery in WA. First run from about an 8-10% wash produced a 40% at about 5 gallons an hour. Second run produced 80% at about 3.5 - 4 gallons an hour.

Hi stillwagon, good looking still there. Sounds like a good producer, I take it that it is heated with electricity as I don't see a burner or heat jacket.
Are there any plates in there or is it a straight column?

It is electric, (3) 4500 watt elements, controlled by a custom controller that provides a steady pressure and temperature variance of no more than 2 degrees. Straight column packed with copper mesh.

"I got home from work around 11 00 but obviously I had to put it together. wow this is better than I thought. the three inch tower looks awesome. I have copper mesh on hand so I got raschig rings and will try to get the best of both worlds. My buddy Capecodder says when he wants a neutral he is going to strip with his 18 inch pot still and bring up his product and reflux on my tower. sounds like a plan to me. Thanks Rick and all at Brewhaus. Kettle and welded internal heat couplings look great.

Hello Bushy, I am curious if you had a chance to do a run with the bubble torpedo yet. I also have the PSII and was thinking of adding one to mine, then I saw this post. So I decided to wait for your results. Thanks

Code words in question but if understand correctly, first quart at 80% when "bubble" primed with 30% "tails". The "tails" are good for nothing else so at minimum the bubble is a good way of reclaiming them instead of throwing out. Good luck....
