I plan on making my column out of 3 inch copper pipe, is this a common size? Is 2 inch diameter pipe adequate? I have a pot still, I need a new project. Thank you.

All the fittings for 2"" copper are exponetially cheaper but either will work. 2"" is really all thats needed."

Dittos. The prices on the 3" copper will take your breath away. If you can find some to buy. Now if it was free it would be great.

If you need copper fittings -- Ebay has everything you need, the home supply stores dont sell anything that large.
