Question taste reference

Has anybody used the essences for rum. I'm trying to find a product that closely resembles Capt Morgan spiced rum for my wife to drink. She's particular, but is open to "getting used to" something close for the price.

I'm a newbie so any help on using the essences is appreciated. thanks again!

I can only comment on coconut rum. My son and his wife love this, so made them several bottles with my good neutral and some essence from brewhaus. They like it better that their rather expensive brand from the store.

They have asked for more, and they particularly liked it not costing them anything. Well, they just might have to buy their own danged essences!

Recon this one is the 3rd genertion (maybe 4th) rum batch.

2.5 liters in glass @ 65%

2 alligator chared white oak sticks
4 or 5 dried apricotts
4 or 5 dried pineapple
tea spoon whole black pepper
zest of 1 orange
pinch of black tea
tea spoon vinilla extract

Rest for 2 weeks then decant through a coffee filter.

dilute to prefered proof.

There have got to be hundreds of possibilities beyond a store bought additive.

Start saving your dunder and get a real rum cycle going. It will not take that long.
